Our Commitment

Our Commitments

We believe that we all have the power to effect change.

Committed to a vision that extends beyond luxury swimsuits, Medina Swimwear looks to inspire and empower. The brand uses its platform to support and promote projects that help clean and protect the marine ecosystem by donation. A percentage of each collection’s sales goes to non-profit organizations dedicated to protecting our oceans.

This season we’re working with Restore Coral, a coral restoration initiative based out of Tulum, Mexico. This program focuses on the renewal of coral reef systems throughout Mexico by offering volunteer programs and outreach initiatives. Restore Coral plants coral while also integrating and educating the local community in the process. Their restoration program invites the indigenous and afro-descendant coastal communities to take part in the regeneration of the threatened marine coral reef systems.

This innovative approach to sustainable growth protects the marine environment while also lending a hand in the development of socially responsible production strategies that impulse employment regeneration for vulnerable and disadvantaged POC communities. The impact of COVID-19 has only emphasized the importance of this work.

We stand by organizations like Restore Coral that not only look to better the environment but include the local community in the process. Your purchase will directly impact our oceans. To learn more about this initiative please visit, https://www.restorecoral.org.

The Ocean Cleanup Project @theoceancleanup

The Ocean Cleanup is designing and developing cleanup systems to clean up what is already polluting our oceans and to intercept plastic on its way to the ocean via rivers.

A significant percentage of the plastic that enters the oceans from rivers and other sources during a transfer that can take many years, drifts into large systems of circulating ocean currents, also known as gyres. Once trapped in a gyre, the plastic will slowly break down into micro-plastics and become increasingly easier to mistake for food by sea life.

Parley.tv @parley.tv

Parley for the Oceans addresses major threats towards our oceans, the most important ecosystem of our planet. We believe the power for change lies in the hands of the consumer – given we all have a choice – and the power to shape this new consumer mindset lies in the hands of the creative industries.

Artists, musicians, actors, filmmakers, fashion designers, journalists, architects, product inventors, and scientists have the tools to mold the reality we live in and to develop alternative business models and ecologically sensible products to give us earthlings an alternative choice, an everyday option to change something.
